SERVICE MANAGER

Parsons Plumbing & Heating Co. Ltd. is a full mechanical service company based out of Winnipeg that has been providing residential and commercial service for plumbing, heating, air conditioning and electrical for over 90 years.  We are currently recruiting for a Service Manager.

What the Service Manager does:

  • Is responsible for the daily organization of all service call assignments for field technicians.
  • Ensures that all service jobs are completed fully thru accumulating all billing hours and material usage on all service calls and billing out on a timely basis.
  • Ensures the service department remains profitable and productive.
  • Engages with customers to provide guidance with enquiries, schedule service calls, and resolve a variety of service call matters.
  • Coordinates work effort and communication between management, staff, technicians, vendors, and customers.

LICENSED JOURNEYPERSON CONSTRUCTION ELECTRICIAN

Qualifications – the ideal candidate should have the following skills, attributes and experience:

  • Construction Electrician license
  • Individual must possess a valid Manitoba drivers’ license

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Have a good mechanical ability, a thorough knowledge of the principles of electricity, circuitry, and power distribution systems, and familiarity with the materials and techniques of construction.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings and electrical code specifications
  • Splicing and connecting wire to fixtures and components to form circuits
  • Testing and troubleshooting circuits to ensure that systems operate safely
  • Pulling wire through conduits and through holes in walls and floors
  • Cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings.
  • Communicating effectively as a member of a team with supervisors and other skilled tradespeople
  • Maintain and install distribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breaker panels, and fuse enclosures
  • Working on a variety of different projects and tasks

LICENSED JOURNEYPERSON PLUMBING/GASFITTER

Qualifications – the ideal candidate should have the following skills, attributes and experience:

  • Plumbing and Gasfitters license
  • Red Seal Certification
  • Individual must possess a valid Manitoba drivers’ license
  • Must be team oriented and hard working
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Strong attention to detail and sensitivity to deadlines a must

JOURNEYPERSON PLUMBER

  • Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
  • Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
  • Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems

GASFITTER

  • Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment
  • Install and maintain gas meters and regulators and gas lines between gas unit and gas meter
  • Install, maintain and service gas heating units and their components, such as burners, valves and automatic controls
  • Test and replace defective equipment or components
  • Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices
  • Attend to gas escape calls and assist in the investigation of gas fires and explosions
  • Prepare reports on work performed and condition of facilities
  • Advise clients regarding standards, safety features and maintenance of gas units and systems
  • Study drawings and specifications to determine the layout of the installation and materials required
  • May repair and service gas appliances and related equipment.
